Fiona is a Bristol-based cyanotype artist and collage illustrator. Based at BV Studios in Bedminster, Fiona has a love of contrasting colours, delicious textures and the continually surprising beauty of nature.
Fiona’s cyanotypes are made using leaves, flowers, and foliage gathered from her garden and local green spaces in Bristol. Each piece is unique and one of a kind. She has exhibited her botanical cyanotypes alongside collage work in local Bristol art trails and exhibitions.
Cyanotype is one of the earliest photographic techniques. The magical, slightly unpredictable process uses a light sensitive iron salts solution and UV light (sunlight!) to create beautiful white and Prussian blue images. It’s such a fun and experimental process!
