Yuup is now live in Cardiff! (*excited klaxon alert*)

This one’s been months in the making and we couldn’t be more excited to introduce what we've been working on. Today, we’ve officially launched over 20 local experiences through partnerships with independent small businesses in Cardiff and South Wales.

These are hand-picked, curated experiences from the heart of communities in and around Cardiff.

Yuup’s whole ethos centres on extraordinary experiences brought to you by passionate locals. We’re a local marketplace that helps you discover new and fun things to do close to home - and we have to say, we’ve had our sights set on Cardiff for quite some time.

Yuup started in Bristol in 2021, just a stone’s throw across the bridge, so we’re no stranger to the city. After getting consistent feedback on how we needed to make the crossing happen in full - from both Bristol and Cardiff locals - we thought it was high time we did.

But first, a brief rewind to where it started earlier this year...

On Good Friday, March 2024, we brought our first Drone Light Show to Cardiff, a partnership between local southwest businesses Yuup and Celestial. The city welcomed us with open arms and over 7500 of you turned up to watch our spectacular show at Sophia Gardens. Feedback was phenomenal and we left feeling warm and fuzzy, but with a fire in our bellies too.

Cardiff’s appetite for cool, new experiences became quickly apparent. In fact, one of the things that struck us from the time we spent here was just how many incredible food, drink and craft experiences exist in Cardiff. It’s a city that packs a punch. We saw an opportunity to work with locals and help bring the diversity of these experiences to the people who live here. We knew there’d be loads to shout about, and there is!

As a platform, we encourage people to discover something new, experience new perspectives on a city, and connect with locals. For our hosts, it’s an opportunity to promote and deliver experiences that put their expertise front and centre, and help their businesses to thrive.

To date, our local hosts have delivered over 240,000 experiences in Bristol, Bath and Birmingham, generating £5m for local indie businesses. There are so many Cardiff experiences in the pipeline and we’re excited to share more of these in the coming weeks.
