Bath Recreation is a local charity passionate about providing opportunities for the local community to engage in sport and recreation. We believe recreation is a key component to bringing communities together and fostering positive lifestyles. We currently manage three sites: The Bath Recreation Ground, The Glasshouse Playing Fields and Broadmoor Lane Orchard and Play Area. The Glasshouse Playing Fields provide extensive outdoor space, plus an indoor communal area with two toilets and one disabled toilet.
The Hen & Chicken Studio was fully refurbished in 2018, this 9m x 15m venue space is on the first floor directly above the main bar and is totally self-contained with its own toilets, bar, stage & sound desk and is fully air-conditioned. The Hen & Chicken Studio is exceptionally versatile lending itself equally to live performances, comedy & music events as well as parties, buffets and corporate events. For event planners, there is also an en-suite “Green room” available for artists also available.

The Jam Jar is a vibrant community arts space in the heart of Bristol. Known for independent live music, we are proud to host artists from all over the world. In addition to live music we operate as a creative hub offering private venue hire, shared and exclusive work spaces, and a recording studio known as Jam Jar Studio.

We offer a number of options aboard The Matthew, from static quayside hire in our usual mooring opposite the M Shed to private cruises with a range of catering options to match. Using local caterers to provide everything from finger buffets and nibbles to traditional fish and chips delivered straight to the ship while you’re on board, we aim to tailor what we can provide to make your event absolutely right for you. We also have a fully licensed bar on board.

Our cosy basement therapy room is well suited for wellness-related workshops, classes and retreats. The room is spacious (approx. 4.8 x 5.1 m), newly decorated, with a carpeted floor and will accommodate a small group of up to 12 people. Chairs, tables as well as a treatment table available on request.

SouthBank is a community arts, music and dance venue based in Bedminster, Bristol. A local meeting place and melting pot for creatives, dancers, poets and their friends and just about anyone else who enjoys good music, dance, good beers and local ciders in a friendly atmosphere. It's a unique social mix where you can drink a pint of ale, do a salsa or ballet class, join in the open-mic nights or just listen to the endless stories from the locals. We have spaces for meetings, live music, dance rehearsals, private functions, festivals, workshops and just about anything else you can think of!
The Square Club is Bristol's Private Members Club for creatives, and is made up of four spaces; a boutique lounge, the Square Kitchen restaurant, the Lower Deck Cocktail Bar & the Secret Garden. We regularly use this space to host comedy nights, quizzes and art workshops. Direct access to the bar, toilets and garden. Big screen & projector available.
