Puppet Place is based on Bristol’s historic harbourside near to Spike Island Studios and Brunel’s SS Great Britain. Our building, Unit 18, is ideally located within easy walking distance of the city’s key cultural organisations and it offers space to work to artists working in visual and performing arts and in particular puppetry and animation.
The building offers a variety of workspaces suited to different needs, including our Rehearsal Studio/Workshop Space, Fabrication Bay and Meeting Room which can all be hired.
We also offer safe bike storage and there is a Pay & Display Car Park within a two minute walk of Unit 18. All spaces come with Wifi, complimentary tea & coffee and the knowledge that you are in a welcoming and supportive working environment.

A plant-filled space, with two mains rooms that can sit 40 each, available for hire evenings and all day weekends and two meeting rooms that are available any time.
You would have access to our rooftop terrace alongside a standard kitchen, with free refreshments and a subsidised coffee machine! We also have a private car park.
Tucked down a lane behind our Gloucester Road gallery the garden is full of flowers and colour with different seating areas in sun or shade. It's a lovely tranquil spot, beside our Eco House and screened by a living willow hedge, yet a stones throw from cafés, a bakery and bus routes.
The venue is a light and spacious conservatory and kitchen area which is perfect for messy creative workshops for 6 participants or smaller tidier workshops with 8 participants. In good weather the garden is available
The workshop hosting package includes venue hire, insurance, refreshments, assistance with workshop and all cleaning.

An intimate studio in the heart of Bristol, perfect for rehearsals, small groups, private sessions, photography shoots, kids classes, yoga, meditation, Pilates, relaxation classes, sound therapy, massage.
We have a sound system, toilets, kitchen, small storage area, a massage bed, mirrored wall with the option to cover it, beautiful sensory lighting, stage lighting, LEDs, lamps and various seating options.
A small corner of our fashion department in the SPARKS project in Broadmead is dedicated to creativity and skills learning. We have three tables (of varying size and height - all reclaimed) 7 chairs, and 6 reclaimed sewing machines. This space is great for small, informal workshops, talks, for little exhibitions, for fashion services such as alterations or making.
This is a city-central space where people from the community can connect with customers about sustainable fashion practices and habits.
The space is nestled amongst our clothing rails and retail space and so isn't suitable for 'wet' workshops such as dyeing.

In addition to grass and 3G pitches and large gym, with capacity for up to 112 seated within the main function room along with separate lounge and conference facilities, Shaftesbury Park is one of the most flexible venues of its kind in the South West.
We are a lovely Georgian building with a beautiful function space that can cater up to 30 people at a time. This is a second floor space so accessibility is tough! Sparks Bristol is a dynamic venue located in the heart of Broadmead, Bristol, within the repurposed former M&S building. It serves as an art and sustainability hub, brought to life through a collaboration between Artspace Lifespace and the Global Goals Centre. Sparks Bristol aims to inspire a greener, fairer, and more creative future by providing a space where visitors can shop, recycle, and engage in various creative and educational activities.
The venue is organized into different departments, each offering unique spaces for hire. The Department of Imagination, located on the second floor, features creative spaces suitable for performances, exhibitions, workshops, and events. This area can accommodate up to 400 people in a theatre-style setup or 300 in a banquet-style arrangement. The space can be divided into two smaller sections if needed and is equipped with technical amenities such as projectors, audio speakers, and changing rooms.

A large and intimate workshop/classroom space, perfect for your educational workshops, talks, meetings and discussions. The space comes prepared with projector set-up, tables, chairs allowing for 70 people capacity.
Sparks Bristol - Department of Reuse and Resources
Welcome to the Department of Reuse and Resources. Our accessible Ground Floor workshop space can cater for up to 12 participants, chairs, tables (reconfigurable) and workbench available. We are building a small tool library that will be available for workshop use.

The bar serves a wide range of drinks, including cocktails and craft beers, and also has a food menu with delicious options. This venue is perfect for any event whether it be networking, conferences or craft session.
Open-plan room with lots of natural light and is named after Bristol civil rights campaigner Paul Stephenson. It can be used for away-days, breakout sessions and large meetings. It comes equipped with built in “plug and play” projector, screen and speakers. Please note that this space is not available for weekend or evening hire during academic term time. The space is 90.5sq.m and can seat 60 theatre style, 25 boardroom style, 40 cabaret or 60 standing.
