Each month, we will be shining a light on our amazing hosts and finding out a little bit about them and their business. This month we spoke to, Pottymouth in Bristol about their journey on Yuup.

Pottymouth run a whole range of pop-up pottery sessions in Bristol, guiding you through the basics of hand building and other ceramics skills. Their aim is to offer accessible courses that everyone can enjoy.

How did you approach the concept of Pottymouth, emphasising accessibility and inclusion?

We sought venues throughout Bristol, prioritising affordability and discounts for students and lower-income participants. Our casual classes remove financial barriers and create comfortable environments for all. To make pottery accessible to diverse communities in Bristol and provide options beyond traditional studios. Our relaxed workshops bring diverse people together, fostering a welcoming atmosphere and providing a creative outlet.

 

Do you have any favourite venues you like to run the sessions in?

Wiper and True taproom in Old Market has been a crucial supporter, helping us grow and succeed.

 

What challenges did you face in turning the business plan into reality?

Initial challenges included generating interest and balancing other work commitments. We overcame these with social media traction and are now fully committed with mentorship for sustainability.

 

What motivated you to sign up with Yuup, and how has the platform been beneficial for the Pottymouth business model?

Recommended by other potters, Yuup provides exposure and a platform for our diverse workshops, aligning well with our offerings. Both focus on unique experiences, and Yuup's visibility helps us reach a broader audience while contributing to their diverse class offerings.
