Join the fun with Shaun the Sheep and Aardman, in this movie screening and model making experience at the SS Great Britain.
All the family are welcome as you first watch Shaun the Sheep: The Farmer’s Llamas film short together, before making your own clay model of Shaun the Sheep. Aardman lead model maker Jim Parkyn will host this fun, hands on session, and will show everyone how to create their own personal model of one of Aardman’s much-loved characters.
These are really fun, hands-on workshops where everyone can be inspired by animation and get creative with clay, discovering how to make a model of Shaun the Sheep to take home with them. As a Yuup extra you'll also be given a free 1-day pass to explore Bristol's historic SS Great Britain.
Based on your feedback, this experience will now be 2 hours long and every guest will be given a box to take their model Shaun home in.

Aardman has been telling compelling stories and engaging audiences through animation since 1972, becoming a four times Academy award winning studio who’s work is recognised worldwide. Their beloved characters from Wallace & Gromit to Shaun the Sheep have delighted audiences, and their work continues to be innovative, entertaining, brilliantly characterised and full of charm. Aardman's first feature length film, Chicken Run, is the highest grossing stop-motion animation film of all time, while Wallace & Gromit: Curse of the Were-Rabbit and The Pirates! In An Adventure with Scientists! both remain in the top four stop-motion animated films. Throughout Aardman’s incredible success the company’s roots have remained firmly in Bristol, and it’s here in our city that they continue to run their two film studios, creating magic on-screen and telling stories through animation.

Both my kids (aged 6 and 8) and I had a really great time trying to model Shaun the Sheep (it's a lot harder than it looks!). Jim Parkyn is a very good teacher and it was fun to hear his stories and anecdotes about all the Aardman films he worked on. I would definitely recommend it as a family activity.
Thank you very much for an experience that was laced with generosity. I took my teenaged autistic daughter and her younger sister as a treat, along with my partner. We all enjoyed it enormously, appreciated the drink, signed book, And tickets to visit the SS Great Brtitain. The guy who headed it up was warm, interesting and instructions clear. We all came out with a big smile on our face, so thank you for creating warmth and fun, a much needed escape from the current pandemic reality!
Really enjoyed the making of the model, but it was rushed at the end. Really didn't need to watch the Farmer's Llamas first, a shorter excerpt would have been great. Whilst it is interesting to have the book, again not really needed - especially if you book a second class. Would have preferred money off the ticket.
