Wafaa is the youngest of 7 children and was born in Lebanon, where she lived until she married her English husband in the 1990s. Wafaa's inspiration for cookery comes from her mum, who found the best way to show her love was through food. The recipes have been passed down through generations and so are the ones Wafaa grew up eating and learning how to prepare. Wafaa believes eating should be a pleasure as much as a necessity and that the relationship between people and food defines the culture of a place.
Belly dancing is also a big part of Wafaa's life. She grew up with it, dancing at home, with friends, at weddings and at parties, and while studying at university she attended belly dance courses in Lebanon to improve her skills. People are at the heart of everything that Wafaa does and she is passionate about sharing her love of belly dancing and Lebanese cuisine.
