Attending Bristol Film Festival's inaugural Summer Screenings? You can find all the important information about the event below!

How will the movies be shown?

The screenings will take place in a pop-up cinema space with covered seating, which will protect you from any untimely Summer showers!

The movie will be shown on a state-of-the-art LED screen designed for all-day screening.

Audio will be delivered using state-of-the-art wireless headphones. Your personal headset will be charged and ready on your seat - simply turn it on, adjust the volume to your own preference, and settle back to enjoy the film.

Where will the screenings take place?

The screenings will be held in The Mall Gardens located in the centre of Clifton Village, just off The Mall. The main entrance to the venue is on Caledonia Place (opposite The Ivy Brasserie).

Getting to the venue:

Parking in Clifton Village is limited and subject to restrictions.

The number 8 and 9 buses both stop in Clifton Village, a short walk from the Observatory.

The nearest train station is Clifton Down.

Wherever possible, your hosts encourage walking and the use of public transport when travelling to their events.

Event information

The Mall Gardens will be open before your screening, the cinema will open at the stated doors time on your ticket. Please allow time for buying refreshments and for settling in before the screening starts. 

Seats are provided although you may wish to bring a cushion for extra comfort. 

Please do not bring your own food and alcohol into the venue; a bag search will be in operation.

Accessibility

The Mall Gardens has an alternative entrance for those who require level access. Please message the hosts through your Yuup account for further instructions about how to access this.

Whilst the site is flat, some areas may be uneven, or have grass or matting underfoot.

If you require a designated wheelchair space please contact the hosts or hello@yuup.co in advance.

If you are attending an event as a registered carer for a disabled guest, please bring appropriate proof of eligibility such as proof of blue badge, access card, cinema for all card, a letter from a professional or evidence of DLA/PIP. 

A wheelchair-accessible toilet will be available at the event.

Headphones: This event requires wireless headsets to be used during the film. If you are concerned about this, please contact the host for further details.

Subtitles: Please contact the hosts if you require a film to be screened with subtitles. Many of their screenings can accommodate subtitles; however, this varies depending on the film.

Food & drink

The Garden Bar: 

Treat yourself to a drink at the Garden Bar, which will be serving soft drinks, beer, cider, and Gin & Tonic. There’ll also be a range of wines from Avery's Wine Cellars, as well as a selection of sparkling wines from DBM Wines. For that perfect summer sensation, The Ivy Clifton Brasserie will be offering refreshing spritzers as well.

Food:

There will be a selection of savoury and sweet snacks to purchase at the venue. Please note that Papadeli salad boxes must be pre-ordered and will not be available for purchase on the day. Information on how to place your pre-order will be included in your booking confirmation email.
