10 colourful ways to celebrate Pride in Bristol this weekend

Last updated on Monday 7 July 2025

Pride in Bristol isn’t just a party - it’s a joyful, powerful celebration of identity, community, and equality. Whether you're part of the LGBTQ+ community or an ally looking to show your support, there are so many ways to get involved this Pride weekend. From adventures in the sun to creative activities, we’ve pulled together a guide packed with brilliant things to do that celebrate the spirit of Pride in a meaningful (and fun!) way.
Whether you're looking to connect, learn, dance or create - there’s something here for everyone.

1. March in the Bristol pride parade

There’s nothing quite like the energy of the Bristol Pride Parade. With thousands of people flooding the streets, it’s one of the biggest and most visible expressions of love and solidarity you’ll ever experience. Expect colourful outfits, banners, music, and lots of cheering as the parade winds through the city.

Top tip: The route can get busy, so head down early to soak up the atmosphere and grab a good spot if you're spectating.

 2. Enjoy some cocktails in the dark

Start your Pride weekend by tasting some delicious cocktails (with a twist!) You'll have to guess the ingredients... and it's harder than it looks. Expect laughs, surprises and amazing cocktails full of varied flavours and colours.

3. Visit the Pride Day festival on The Downs

The heart of the weekend is the Bristol Pride Day Festival on The Downs, featuring live music, community stalls, food and drink, a family area and a dance tent. The line-up includes some iconic headliners and a whole lot of dancing.

Top tip: why not not make a day of it and book a walking tour of Bristol’s quirkiest corners, before heading up to the Downs for an evening of dancing?

4. Take part in a life drawing class and drink limited-edition Pride beer

Get a group of friends together to celebrate queer creativity in an intimate, inclusive life drawing class where everyone is welcome.

If you’d prefer to draw paws than people (I mean, who wouldn’t!), head to Wiper and True for a dog life drawing class. Whilst you’re there, make sure you buy a pint of kaleidoscope. Wiper and True are donating 100% of profits from this limited-edition batch to Caring in Bristol, helping to fund their vital work supporting members of the LGBTQIA+ community at risk of or living with homelessness.

Try your hand at life drawing this weekend, with a private life drawing class or a dog drawing class.

5. Explore the stories of Bristol’s LGBTQ+ history

Bristol has a rich and complex LGBTQ+ history, and Pride is the perfect time to reflect on how far we’ve come (and how far we still have to go). Look out for guided walking tours or exhibitions at local museums that spotlight queer history in the city.

Try this: Walk through Old Town on this self-guided pub tour, spotting key landmarks and LGBTQ+ venues that have shaped local culture.

6. Screenprint your own Pride-inspired t-shirt or tote bag

Celebrate Pride with a burst of creativity at this screenprinting workshop hosted by Print Paradiso in Bedminster. This hands-on session invites you to design and print your own Pride artwork onto a comfy cotton t-shirt or a sturdy tote bag. It’s a brilliant way to celebrate Pride with friends, and you're even welcome to bring along your favourite drinks and play your own music too!

7. Join a LGBTQ+ friendly wellbeing workshop or yoga class

Amid all the excitement, Pride is also a time to reflect, recharge and care for ourselves. Look out for LGBTQ+ friendly wellness sessions like yoga, meditation, journalling, or sound baths.

8. Dance the night away at 'An Evening of ABBA'

This one-night-only concert features West End performers, delivering ABBA's greatest hits with a live band in a sunny open-air stadium.

9. Unleash your inner artist at a sip & paint party

Celebrate Pride with a splash of colour and creativity at this sip & paint experience with PopUp Painting. This fun, carefree painting workshop invites you to get creative with guided step-by-step instructions to create your own masterpiece - all while enjoying your favourite drinks.

10. Just be there - and be yourself

Whether you're going all out in rainbow glitter or taking a quieter moment to reflect, showing up matters. Pride is about visibility, solidarity and joy. Even simply showing up to events, smiling at strangers in the crowd or listening to someone’s story can make a real difference.

Pride in Bristol is bursting with life, colour and connection, and everyone is welcome. Whether you’re up for a night out, a creative workshop or a calm activity to reflect, there's something for you. It’s a time to celebrate how far the LGBTQ+ community has come, but also to keep moving forward together.

However you choose to celebrate this weekend, we hope this guide helps you feel inspired, seen and connected.

Happy Pride, Bristol 🌈
