EmailEver wondered what it would be like to write the banger!? This is an immersive 3-hour songwriting experience with a professional writer and recording artist.
Spend a fun, creative morning or afternoon learning the techniques of top lining, experience and understand how songs come together and get your teeth into writing killer melodies and lyrics that really say something!
You'll be guided by Leo Wood, a professional recording artist, songwriter and vocalist with 70+ million streams, who specialises in electronic and dance music and has worked with artists and producers across the scene. Featured on Radio 1, Kiss FM and releasing on some of the biggest dance labels in the world! Legit ;)
This is for anyone wanting to give songwriting a go and/or those of you who want an in depth look at the processes behind the industry. You'll work with an artist who's highly sort after across the underground and get your writing to the ears that can really matter.
What you write - could get released!
You don't need to be the singer, I can do that bit for you. ( But I highly recommend you giving it a crack too)
No previous songwriting experience is needed, this is both a great session for beginners, anyone looking for a totally new hands on experience and, pro level / aspiring writers.
This experience can be held in my home studio or I can come to you (Bristol) and set up a mini studio. Writing a good song takes time, the session is 3 hours - the sweet spot, If you're keen for something shorter or longer, we can definitely work with that! (subject to extra hourly rate)
We can tailor the experience to what you want to do - here are some ideas:
- Write a song for someone and record it /
- Write a song for professional pitching / collaboration / Demos
- You're the songwriter - I'm the singer / Your work sung by a pro.
- Write a song with a date/a mate / a little keepsake.
- Group session - make a banger together and have a cracking time!
- You tell me!
By the end of this, you'll have built new songwriting skills, demystified the art of toplining, written an original song and recorded the vocal demo. Boom! Yes - all of that in one session.
From there - we can chat about further progressive, development, demo pitching etc for those of you interested. Any songwriting royalties are equally split by those in the room, so you could even get your name on some credits!

How to get there
This experience will take place at a location that you arrange and agree with your host.
Host instructions:
If you'd like me to come to you I charge a little extra transport for time and distance. You should have a clear space or table where I can set up my laptop, speakers and microphone.

Participants should prepare with a note pad and pen and any lyrics ideas or themes they've been brewing. Make sure to have plenty of water or - whatever and snacks!

I'm Leo Wood, a professional singer, songwriter, recording artist and DJ based in Bristol. I've built my career independently, releasing music across the electronic and dance music world and accumulating over 70 million streams along the way. I specialise in House music, Garage, Drum and Bass, Bass, Soul, Electronica.
Alongside making and performing my own music, I work with other artists as a songwriter and vocalist, through this i've landed some massive collaborations and releases across the underground.
I teach singing and songwriting privately 2 days a week beside my creative work, helping students find their own voice, and sharing this love for writing.
This is a new, really exciting series I'm developing in Bristol - we've a thriving electronic scene and this course is all about the killer vocals that grace the dance anthems we love - and how to write them!
I'm passionate about vocals, about elevating the writers, giving people space to explore and to make music feel accessible, fun and trust me - therapeutic! There's nothing quite like letting lose and writing a banger :)
