Wild Plant Walk & Foraging: Greyfield Woods

Discover new-found knowledge and an appreciation for local plants and the natural world on Gifts of the Land's Spring Foraging & Wild Plant Walk.

Hosted by seasoned forager Samantha, you will spend this walk getting to know some of the local plants and learning about their herbal and culinary properties, history, folklore and how to identify them safely.

You will also learn about toxic look-a-likes and how to wild-harvest plants sustainably. There will be opportunities to get to know the plants in a tactile way, touching, smelling and sometimes tasting them! All walks are deeply rooted in a love for the Earth and reciprocity, and your host will discuss how we can lessen our impact and protect biodiversity.

The bluebells are in full bloom at this time and we will stop to enjoy the magical blue carpet that they create and learn a bit about them and why they are a protected species (please note if booking onto walks after mid-may the bluebells may be on their way out).

Important information:

  • The walks are designed for beginners but all are welcome!
  • The walk is uneven in places and involves some hills. Children are welcome and under 5's go free (however, the walk may not be pushchair friendly)
  • The exact location will be sent to you a few days before the event

Minimum fitness level required.

Adult (Adult ticket) £30
Child (5-18 (Under 5's are free)) £15
