In this experience you will:
- Drink delicious whisky!
- Sample different styles in a guided tasting of three different Circumstance products
- Learn from the team about whisky production
- Uncover the flavours of different grains & yeast and how these affect the flavour
- Learn about Bristol's interesting whisky-producing history.
- Brush up on some fun whisky facts weaved in for good measure!
What you'll try: You'll start with a whisky highball, followed by guided tasting as you sample three different styles. Finishing on a classic whisky cocktail!
Circumstance aims to demystify the wonderful world of whisky, focusing on new world styles and the innovation evolving in the whisky industry.
This is an interactive experience, so there will plenty of time for any questions along the way. You'll leave being an even bigger fan of whisky than before!

This was a top quality experience. As a whisky drinker, I was impressed by the host's great knowledge and enthusiasm for the product. We had a very small, intimate setting (just 4 of us drinking) with a great variety of drinks, great tastings and a fantastic host. I greatly enjoyed learning more about how whisky is made as well as sampling some top quality drinks. I would very happily go again and would definitely recommend to anyone who likes whisky and is near to Bristol!

Being Scottish I was more than a little sceptical at the idea of an Englishman in an English Distillery doing a Whisky Lover's Masterclass; boy was I wrong!
Welcomed with an interesting whisky to drink, we then had an entertaining time with a fascinating description of their production processes followed up by a tasting of four of their whiskies. The venue is delightful, and it was really enjoyable. Would recommend to anyone.

A wonderful experience. Didn't know what to expect and was delighted to learn a lot about whisky making whilst sampling new products from different grain mixes. A very enjoyable experience. Will book the gin tasting too.

Circumstance Distillery
Circumstance Distillery was founded in 2018, brought to you from the same team behind Psychopomp Micro-distillery. The only distillery in Bristol distilling from ferment, their approach to making spirits is to respect traditions without being confined by them.
Proudly carbon neutral, with a mission to make exceptional spirits whilst protecting the planet and improving their community. They are currently producing an organic vodka, white rum and a selection of grain spirits. Their first whisky is due to be released in September 2022, the first produced in Bristol for over 80 years.
Described by Master of Malt as 'Britain's most innovative distillery', the team work hard to capture as much flavour as possible in the liquid. They do this by building flavour before it comes into contact with a cask - with a wide variety of grains, organic mash bills, alternative yeasts and long open ferments. Spirits are then matured in a wide selection of casks - from 30L English chestnut, 60L new Andean oak, to 220L ex Muscat, to name but a few. Each batch released is small and completely individual.
