Beginner's vitreous enamel workshop

Has the ancient art of enamelling got you curious? Vitreous enamelling involves fusing tiny glass particles with heat to form a solid layer of colour onto a metal base like copper, gold or sterling silver.

In this experience, you'll be working on a copper base and your enamel will be powdered glass. Put your new knowledge to the test by making a small item of jewellery or a plaque to treasure!

What to expect:

  • Get introduced to the world of enamelling and the creative process
  • Brush up on all aspects of health and safety
  • Receive demonstrations from your host
  • Intimate group sizes mean there will be plenty of individual guidance and support
  • Get inspired by the examples provided
  • Make a small item of jewellery or a small plaque to take home with you

All materials and necessary equipment is provided, along with tea, coffee and biscuits to fuel your creativity. Your creation will be all prettily packaged up for you to take home and show off!

Please note: You will be using a very hot kiln to fire the work, but help is at hand if this is out of your comfort zone.

Age restrictions: 14+

Adult (Minimum age 14 and above) £50
Group Ticket (a maximum of 6 attendees) £250
