Couldn't have asked for a better way to spend an afternoon. Jasmine was a great teacher, friendly and helpful throughout. The makers market with live music was a nice bonus. Looking forward to seeing the finished works when they've been fired and glazed. Thank you!
My partner and I had an amazing time at the pottery workshop, Jasmine was a great teacher who left us to independently work on our creations whilst being available if we needed help. Highly recommend this class, and we can't wait to collect what we made once it's ready!
Would recommend classes to anyone, even as complete beginners we felt we learnt so much from the class, Jasmine is lovely and super patient
Had a wonderful time at the pottery throwing class. Loved learning a new skill. Really enjoyed that there was unlimited clay to play with so felt very little pressure when it wasn't working. Was just a really lovely way to spend a couple of hours.
Thoroughly enjoyed it. Great tuition. Amazed we actually managed to make something.
Mum and I really enjoyed this fun and friendly workshop. 2 hours was just the right amount of time to learn the basics and make a few nice things that were good enough to be glazed and fired!
Thoroughly enjoyed our pottery throwing workshop, Jasmine out tutor was super helpful and calm and made us feel at ease. Gained a lot out of the session and would definitely recommend.
This was a gift and it was excellent! It was really enjoyable. Finola was extremely helpful and patient with the group. Would love to do some more at some point.
Really enjoy the pottery throwing taster session so much that I will be booking a 4 wee beginners course in the spring hopefully May when these dates are released.
Thank you to Finola who was a great tutor.
Great day out yesterday. Jasmine was just fab and helped us when we needed it but also allowed us to fully engage in the experience. Would definitely recommend!
We had a wonderful time at the pottery studio! The host and others in the studio were super friendly and relaxed. They were all offering help even though they weren’t teaching us!
Jazz was amazing. She explained everything so well and was extremely patient. She was super keen for us to all come away with an outcome which was so good to hear, and was adaptable to help us make some plates too!
The studio was lovely and bright, and we were even allowed to help ourselves to a cup of tea! X
Got this as a gift for my girlfriend. We both loved the experience. Great host with a very friendly atmosphere and eased us in with an easy to follow demonstration and was also very attentive to individual's needs.
Fab 3h spent on the wheel. Lucy is a good host and teacher. Getting the pottery bug and will book more sessions with them in the near future!
Loved the session, enough time to get a really good feel for pottery throwing. Got more confident as time went on and ended up with a couple of pots worth firing. Lucy was great tutor and was on hand to guide when things went a bit wobbly! Remember to cut your nails before joining though!
Had an Amazing time, great tuition fun freindly and managed to produce some good pots... would go back again for sure
Great session and easy to find, accessible location. Small classes so more 1:1 time and enough time to throw a few pots so I can take sometime away to be proud of!
A fun session with a lovely tutor who explained everything clearly and helped us all the way through.
Great teacher, lovely space to work in.
Quality time on a wheel. First time doing it and really enjoyed Lucy's instruction, patience and guidance.
A lovely light and open studio space where you can work away at your own pace on the wheel with all the equipment, tools and clay you could need provided. Lucy is on hand to provide guidance and to help you develop your ideas into creations. The atmosphere at Fishponds Pottery is relaxed and friendly making it a really lovely place to spend a few hours making pots.
The firing of 2 pots is included in the ticket price. We charge a fee of £7.50 (per piece) for additional items.
Having become acquainted with ceramics during a Foundation Diploma at the Bristol School of Art and subsequently developing that material relationship through a voluntary role with local practitioners, Lucy landed on the Ceramics BA Hons course at Cardiff School of Art and Design in 2018.
During her time in Cardiff she focused on the production of reduction fired stoneware, the development of glaze from self-sourced materials and the interrogation of what constitutes "sustainable" practice - where do our conceptions of what is and what is not sustainable come from?
Lucy is an talented thrower, a gifted communicator and experienced instructor.
