Creative retreat and nature meditation

What you'll do

Forest-bathing, meditating and expressing our creativity are all lovely things. This uplifting experience combines all three.

Join your host Ruth on a creative retreat, as you immerse yourself in nature, relax into your surroundings, and produce a unique piece of art, under the guidance of an illustrator.

Your experience will begin in the woods. Walking amongst trees is a relaxing experience, which can soothe many emotions. Feelings of anxiety, stress and fatigue can often slip away, as you breathe in the scent of nature. This will help you get into a good headspace.

You will start with a meditation and a Chi Kung exercise, to calm your body and mind. Chi Kung is an ancient Chinese exercise and healing technique that involves meditation, controlled breathing and movement exercises. This invigorating practice has been specifically designed to have many benefits to our health.

Once you are feeling revived, you will walk back to the Hayloft for a drink and some food, before settling into another meditation. Mindfulness mediation has been proven to enhance creativity and innovation. After this, your mind will be opened up to lots of new ideas, so you should feel all the more inspired to create some art.

You will then be free to select any medium of your choice to use for your creation. This is an opportunity for you to express whatever has inspired you so far through your surroundings, meditations, or whatever else this might be. This experience isn't about learning how to paint, but painting with freedom so you create a piece of art that truly expresses yourself.

This is more than just a creative meditation. It's a chance to create art, being in a rare state of flow. With your host's knowledge and encouragement, you will step away from this retreat, having produced something you're truly proud of.
