As part of the Bristol Ensemble’s "Tasting Tunes" series of musical wine-tasting events, this evening will celebrate a selection of fine French wines alongside the iconic music of beloved French artist Édith Piaf.
Imagine a cozy and intimate setting, where you can enjoy a glass of wine and listen to the beautiful sounds of a live string quartet.
You’ll be welcomed to the 1904 Arts Club, a hidden gem behind the Red Lodge Museum, with its quirky artefacts and cabaret-style seating. As the candles flicker, you’ll be treated to a live performances of Edith Piaf’s iconic music including "Non, Je Ne Regrette Rien" and "La Vie En Rose" by the Bristol Ensemble, the city’s leading professional orchestra.
You’ll also get to taste four fine French wines, carefully selected by Oboe Fine Wines, who are known for their quality, sustainability and biodiversity. They’ll take you on a journey through each wine, sharing the stories behind the music and the regions they come from.

Music was great but wine presentation not so good.
Also serving of wines badly organised some tables mussed out on the first wine
An interesting location, lovely live music. Wines could have been served a little quicker for some guests. It was hard to hear our host sometimes due to microphone failure. Generally a good experience.
Quite chaotic, we didn't get wine for a long time, had to raise hands several times to get the servers to come to us. The descriptions of wine were a little boring, and listening to them before even getting the wine didn’t feel well timed. The music was incredible.
A nice idea for an evening of entertainment.
It was a wonderful evening in a great location - thanks!
A very pleasant and fun evening, in an interesting venue. The combination of wine tasting and music worked well, and both were very good. The only minor disappointment was that it was too short, so the wine tasting was rushed. We didn't have time to finish one wine before the next one was brought. Another 30+ minutes of music would have helped.
Excellent evening, great wine and music but the food presentation could do with some work.
