Celebrate Bristol’s diverse communities through food, storytelling, and a shared cooking experience that connects culture, memory, and home.
This experience is part of City Uncovered: Bristol, taking place from 18th–31st May – a limited-time series of unique, under-the-radar experiences designed to help you see the city differently.
What to expect:
You’ll step into a welcoming, communal space where the experience begins with powerful, personal stories from refugees living in Bristol. Through conversations around food, memory, and identity, you’ll gain insight into the role food plays in shaping culture and Bristol as home.
From there, you’ll move into a hands-on cooking workshop led by experienced chefs, where you’ll learn to make traditional dishes such as samosas—while exploring the wider influences that make up Bristol’s vibrant food scene.
As you cook, there’ll be time to connect with others, share experiences, and enjoy a refreshing traditional drink. The atmosphere is warm, open, and social—designed to bring people together through food and storytelling.
This is more than a cooking class; it’s a chance to experience the richness of Bristol’s communities and the stories that shape them.
