Stitch a Bird: Free Motion Embroidery

Join Adele for a workshop on free-motion embroidery using sewing machines to create your own textile birds.

You will learn how to:

• Set up a machine with a free motion foot
• Draw with a sewing machine including tips and techniques
  
• Create textile art
• Add applique fabric parts
• Colour in areas and add textures and details
  

You'll start with simple stitched lines and progress to creating appliqué pictures. At the end you'll have a unique piece of artwork and new confidence and skills. Whether you fancy a bluetit, flamingo, robin, or seagull there will be lots of inspiration. There is also an opportunity to add in background details if you wish.

Sewing machines, fabrics and materials will all be provided but feel free to bring your own ideas and materials if you wish. If you’d like to bring your own machine please let me know when you book.

Suitable for complete beginners and more experienced machinists. Complimentary drink is included.
