Discover Saturn's rings, spot Jupiter's moons and enjoy unique wood-fired pizza dining on the edge of Exmoor National Park. This experience really is the full package!
Arrive at Barton Farm and get greeted with your complimentary soft drinks. If the sky is clear your telescopes will be ready for action! Gary and Liz will introduce you to the season's astronomical sky, the constellations, and Greek mythologies dating back to 1400 BCE. You'll even discover how a star's colour indicates its age. If the weather's wet, Liz will host a presentation from Moor Wild's huge barn. Even on a cloudy night, this will be just as mind-blowing!
Next up? Pizza time! With some freshly risen dough in your hands, you'll stretch and stack your ingredients so they're ready for Gary's wood-fired pizza oven. Tuck into tasty hot pizzas as they come out one by one.
Whilst munching away, why not have a play with Moor Wild's Stellarium app and its virtual planetarium? Check out their Dark Skies literature or make friends with the farm animals - calves, pygmy goats, sheep and chickens!
Of course, this evening wouldn't be complete without toasting giant gooey marshmallows and sipping hot chocolate around the firepit. This is a chance to really bond with your hosts and other guests. All experiences will be adapted to the weather. Come rain or shine, expect something equally spectacular!

A great night out thanks to Gary for a fantastic evening
it was amazing. Gary and Linda were so lovely and welcoming and full of knowledge. It was really good fun making our own pizzas. We were lucky enough that the clouds cleared for a while and we saw some incredible stars, planets and constellations. Even got to see a giant rabbit called Stuart ❤️ I would 100% recommend anyone attended one of these nights. Even if you don't know much about the stars, you learn so much and the starts are so pretty. We are hoping to return in September.
We booked the stargazing and pizza event for ourselves and friends as we really wanted to view stars within a dark skies location.
From start to finish, the whole process was extremely professional. We received notifications and clear instructions as to the location.
Liz is a brilliant host and very knowledgeable and inclusive. We were fortunate to see the Milky Way and other constellations with the naked eye. In addition, the telescopes meant we could also view Saturn’s rings and Jupiter.
Lovely idea. A magical video with music would enhance experience
A great evening with welcoming and enthusiastic hosts even though the stars forgot to appear through the cloud! As you would expect it is a very rural location so leave extra time to find your way there through the country lanes. Brilliant pizza (naturally!) including Gluten Free.
Liz is an outdoor educator and walking guide. She runs wild foraging, stargazing, bat detecting and private dining experiences.
Gary is Moor Wild Experience's resident dairy farmer. He wants to make any guest's experience with them one to remember.
Former dairy farmer Linda looks forward to meeting guests at experiences.
