Spend a Sunday with a difference as you enjoy a long table dining experience and discover the planets from Exmoor’s Dark Skies Reserve in the grounds of 11th Century Nettlecombe Court Estate in Somerset.
After an interactive presentation inside the beautiful Grade I listed Nettlecombe Court, you’ll tuck into a scrumptious Sunday roast followed by a delicious dessert, served lovingly by the Nettlecombe team. Service is carvery style served from a hot foot counter with a self-clearing plate system. Desserts will be served in bowls for you to choose alongside custard/cream for pouring. Dietary requirements can be catered for - just let the team know by Monday 16th October 2023.
After your meal, you’ll step outside onto the front lawn where you’ll learn how to use an array of both traditional and modern telescopes under the guidance of your host Liz from Moor Wild Experiences.
You’ll be looking out for Saturn’s rings, Jupiter and her moons, nebulae and constellations with the help of fold out charts and stargazing apps.
You’re welcome to bring you own drinks to enjoy during the experience. You'll be given an Exmoor Dark Skies pocket guide to take home with you and can purchase stargazing fold out charts if you wish to take one home with you.

Seeing Saturn, Jupiter + four of its moons, the Polar Star and constellations such as Cassiopeia was a dream. The members of the staff were extremely knowledgeable and helpful. They gave wonderful explanations and support with the telescopes. Also, the Sunday roast was very good! It was a BRILLIANT experience :)
Thank you for making this possible!
