An Evening of Stand-up, Sketch & Improv Comedy

Up The Antics return with their hit format of comedy variety, but this time with a twist! Part of The Improv Theatre's Little Improv Festival, the whole night will be completely improvised! From the compere’s off-the-cuff banter with the audience to an improvised stand-up routine using a random word generator!

And to top off the evening's hilarities, there will be performances from improv groups Breaking & Entering and Up The Antics!

Improv from Up The Antics

Bristol-based Up The Antics take us down the rabbit hole of improvised sketch comedy. With the suggestion of a location, the antics will explore the characters and journeys taken to arrive there, with hilarious results.

Improv from Breaking & Entering

Breaking & Entering are Lauren Shearing (Showstopper!, Austentatious) and Maria Peters (Yes Queens, The Science of Cringe). Two of the UK’s most experienced improvisers and creators of London’s hugely popular The Playground night.

Shearing and Peters have been performing their multi-character duo show internationally and across the UK since 2013. In this collection of hilarious and heart-warming scenes they weave audience suggestions into remarkable stories and sketches.

Improvised stand-up from Simon Hall

Special guest Simon Hall will be performing his existing routine, before being thrown in the metaphorical deep end as he improvises a routine based off of a random word generator projected onto a screen behind him.

Simon Hall has done over 400 shows in the two and half years he’s been gigging. He’s recently done middle spots for Laughterloft, Black Cherry, Jaggers Comedy Club; and opened for Sounds Proper Comedy and headlined for Luna Comedy and G&B. He has also MC’d for LOLipops pro nights and Simon Says Stand Up. Simon’s comedy is manic, silly and high energy. Blending off-the-wall jokes and puns with hard-hitting, honest anecdotes, his comedy ranges from the dark and gritty to the downright stupid.
