SUP Bristol

SUP Bristol is the award-winning home of stand-up paddleboarding in Bristol founded by Tim and Kate in 2014. Between the team, they’ve paddled in four continents, from the raging whitewater of the White Nile to New Zealand's tranquil fjords.

Both are highly qualified and passionate about sharing their love for the water, both on Bristol's historic floating harbour and beyond. Most of all, they wanted to make it easier for people to have access to water without having to commit to a membership or regular training.

Having been a fixture in Baltic Wharf for the last six years, SUP Bristol has helped thousands of people take to the water and see the city from a completely unique perspective.

Kate

Kate first tried her hand at paddleboarding in the serene landscape of Nelson lakes, New Zealand. A few hikes and long distance bike rides later and she returned to the UK and co-founded SUP Bristol. When not on a board, Kate loves open water swimming, competing in distances up to 10km. Trained and experienced in youth work, adult education and volunteer management, Kate is passionate about creating accessible, fun adventures and opportunities for others to develop. Ask Kate about the GB racing scene and SUP’s work with youth and the community.

Tim

Tim discovered stand up paddleboarding in 2011 whilst paddling in New Zealand, and in 2014 co-founded SUP Bristol, with partner Kate, to bring the outdoors to the city. His enthusiasm for sharing his passion for the water has led him to become a leading provider of SUP Bristol coach education. Tim’s watersports career began with competitive freestyle kayaking, in which he competed for Great Britain. He is a British Canoeing 5* Leader and is Rescue 3 trained and if you really enjoy your experience he’s always happy to talk about how you can take your paddling further.
