2 hrs 30 mins
(17)

Discover the wild flavours of the countryside on a guided foraging walk, learning how to safely identify and gather edible plants, flowers, and fungi.

This experience is part of City Uncovered: Bristol, taking place from 18th- 31st May – a limited-time series of unique, under-the-radar experiences designed to help you see the city differently.

What to expect:

Your experience begins at Chew Magna’s beautiful Community Farm, where you’ll meet your host, Leah, and get a short introduction to the world of foraging. From here, you’ll set off on a relaxed, scenic walk through the surrounding countryside.

As you explore, Leah will guide you step-by-step through how to identify a variety of seasonal wild foods—from fresh greens and herbs to edible flowers and fungi—while also highlighting what to avoid. Along the way, you’ll pause to sample some foraged finds and learn about their uses, flavours, and folklore.

The walk weaves through picturesque farmland and towards Chew Lake, offering plenty of moments to take in the views while deepening your connection to nature. Expect a calm, curious atmosphere with lots of hands-on learning and discovery.

By the end, you’ll leave with the confidence and knowledge to begin your own foraging journey.
