Bristol Sketching Tour for Beginners and Improvers

Embark on a captivating artistic journey through Bristol's city centre alongside the local illustrator, Cai Burton. This one-of-a-kind sketching tour is designed specifically for locals, tourists and artists alike, offering a blend of creativity, exploration, and inspiration!

Never picked up a pencil before? Out of practice at drawing? Not sure if you can even make something to be proud of? Don't worry because even though drawing is a part of this workshop, the main focus is looking and observing your surroundings. It's not about making beautiful pieces, just trying something different and making memories.

Prepare to unleash your inner artist with a small group of fellow guests. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned sketcher, Cai’s guided activities and encouragement will ensure that you feel welcome and supported.

Your adventure begins in the heart of Bristol, where inspiration can be found in the city's rich history, bustling harbourside and vibrant street art! You'll walk the streets, discovering hidden gems, creative corners and architectural features.

What to expect:

  • A guided artistic tour of Bristol, uncovering the best corners to capture on the page
  • All dry materials and paper supplied
  • Fun artistic prompts to help creativity flow

Throughout the tour, your host Cai will lead you through a series of engaging drawing activities designed to give you artistic freedom. Whether it’s quick, gestural drawing or delving deeper into an intricate study, each activity will unlock your creativity and help you see Bristol in a new light.

Create over 20 unique sketches in just 3 hours, testing your skills and embracing new experiences. Rather than simply snapping a photo, bring home illustrations to remember your experience.

You’re welcome to bring along extra drawing supplies and equipment, however dry materials and paper will be provided.

As you sketch, laugh and learn, Cai’s passion for art and Bristol will undoubtedly make its mark on your journey. Talk with other participants, share tips and tricks, and simply enjoy creating art in the heart of a vibrant city!
