Sew an easy sundress
What you'll do
Are you a confident beginner who is familiar with a sewing machine, but wants to get to know yours even better? Summer is just around the corner, so what better time to make yourself a sundress? It will easily become a staple item whenever those rays come out to play!
In this four hour workshop you will learn:
- How to use shirring elastic
- How to turn thin straps through easily
- How to create a zero-waste sundress
You will need to bring:
- A piece of light to medium weight jersey fabric for your dress. Alternatively, purchase this on the day. Your host always recommends pre-washing your fabric, where possible

On the day
- A piece of light to medium weight jersey fabric for your dress (1m by 1.5m wide for up to UK size 16, or 2m by 1.5m wide for over UK size 16) or you can purchase this on the day
- If you would like to make a maxi version of the dress, you will need to have a longer length of fabric (your host suggests 2m)
