Mending your clothes can be as straight forward as fixing a seam, but how about instead mending your clothes the creative way? In this workshop we'll use patching, darning and creative stitching to breathe new life into your garments. It's a great opportunity to not only mend an item but also let your creativity roam free.
In this session you'll get to try out a variety of different visible mending and darning techniques and turn holes and tears into beautiful features. Bring an item in need of mending, all other materials will be provided.
What to expect:
A mending workshop suitable for beginners
Learn a variety of different techniques
Get inspiration on how to mend your garments creatively
Repair a well-loved item of clothing
This workshop is suitable for any item of clothing as we'll look at a range of different techniques that work with different kinds of fabrics.
This event is a collaboration between Rethrindle CIC and Rebel Patch, two small slow fashion organisations, aiming to make sewing inclusive and accessible to everyone. This is why we try to make our workshops as affordable as possible. A limited number of concession spaces is available for each of our workshops. If you're looking to book a concession space but they're sold out, please contact us and we'll see what we can do. If you can, please consider getting a pay-it-forward ticket - every pay-it-forward ticket purchased enables us to offer another concession space for someone who needs it.

The workshop was held in a relaxing and interesting setting at the bookshop which I loved! The techniques I learned were invaluable and particularly liked the nice range of books and materials the host provided. A lovely way to spend an evening and highly recommend.
I loved the colorful sashiko workshop. It was a lovely, relaxed evening where we all learned some skills. It was a nice pace and I managed to find a perfect patch and mend a skirt that I have had for years but was too ripped to wear. Very happy, would recommend and would go to more re_thrindle workshops.
