Running Workshop: Improve your running!

Have you started running and just want to check you are doing it right? Are you an experienced runner and want to improve your form? What about injuries? Come and spend a few hours sorting your running out!

In this workshop you'll be guided in the most efficient way to run - better running efficiency will make the running easier, more comfortable, plus reduce injuries. We will also explore some exercises and drills to improve strength, coordination and mobility.

Our running form is hugely influenced by our daily lives, so I take a holistic view of exercise and explore our running in relation to what we do during the rest of the day. I can offer ways of training that fit in with our busy lives. Running is a great movement for mind, body and soul! It gets you out in different locations and gives you a new perspective of the world- whilst improving your fitness and stamina. We will consider how to balance our running and exercise needs against day to day living.

It won't all be talking of course; we will be running around to practice new ways of moving, trying out exercises, and having some personal assessment of running efficiency. There will also be a short run through stunning countryside to put theory into practice. As every runner has different needs and histories, I use my 30 years experience as a teacher to personalise the workshop in order that participants gain full value, and that the content is relevant to them.

All this will take place in a stunning horse riding stables in Lower Failand - the perfect place for enjoying being out of doors. Plus you get to meet the miniature ponies and our baby goat!

With this workshop, you can learn how to exercise and enjoy it at the same time- plus you'll have a good laugh with your host Mark!

This workshop is suitable for all, from beginners to experienced runners.

COVID-19 guidelines

There is hand gel and water and soap at the yard, but feel free to bring your own. Obviously, should you be experiencing the symptoms of the virus or have been ill, or live with someone who has, please stay away.

On the day

Location - Gallop View Stables, Lower Failand. BS8 3TY - Follow Google maps rather than the postcode, it is just past the cricket club - Bring running clothes and plenty of warm kit - You will need to complete a health questionnaire beforehand to ensure suitability
