Sophie Rae is a Bristol mural artist and printmaker with a distinctively bold style. Her clients include Vanfolk, The NHS and Upfest - just to name a few!
Join Sophie in a two-hour evening workshop that's the perfect antidote to a long old day. Unwind with a playful and satisfying low-tech print process that gives quick but beautiful results. Sophie will show you the ropes!
In a friendly and supportive environment, you will learn printmaking tips and techniques, using small artist quality rollers with hand-cut paper stencils. From here you'll build up your print onto paper and card, using simple drawn shapes. Discover the magic of materials that can create fantastic textures and wonderful gradients when built up into layers. Play around with shapes and compositions, and learn a thing or two about creating balance. Sophie encourages you to experiment with this process, providing all the guidance and support you need along the way.
Within a couple of hours, you'll have:
- Produced a number of A4 prints
- Played around with mixing many different colours
- Created your own stencils
- Learnt tips about colour combinations and composition

- Aprons also included. Please wear clothes suitable for an art studio
