Join your host Sophie from Print & Play for her special Christmas workshop!

In this printing workshop, you will be printing your own set of Christmas cards and Christmas wrapping paper.

Your host is an experienced artist and printmaker, with years of experience under her belt. With her guidance, you will be using festive stencils, rollers and Christmas shapes to create beautiful handmade cards and wrapping paper.

You will learn printmaking tips and techniques to create festive designs such as holly, Christmas trees, presents and baubles.

You will experiment with textures and gradients to build up layers and play around with shapes and design, learning a thing or two about creating balance. Your host will help with this process and support along the way.

To top off this Christmas experience, you will tuck into a mince pie and cup of tea, all while listening to classic Christmas tunes.

What to expect:

  • Discover a fantastic low-tech print process
  • Create your own stencils
  • Learn tips about colour combinations and composition
  • You'll create a couple of A4 prints, 5 greetings cards and a sheet of A2 gift wrap to take home

Sophie is a Bristol-based mural artist and printmaker. Find her bold botanical designs and abstract art brightening up the city. From community murals to cute cafes, trendy bars, retro diners and public gardens – this maker is certainly leaving her mark!

Sophie handcrafts each of her prints with love, without using a press. She celebrates the beauty of irregularities in printmaking. Sophie can't wait to share her unique printing technique with others and get them inspired to pick up a roller too.
