Uncover Birmingham’s LGBTQ+ History on the Run

Run, learn, and celebrate Pride on a social 5K through Birmingham’s vibrant LGBTQ+ past and present.

This experience is part of City Uncovered: Birmingham, taking place from 18th-31st May 2026 – a limited-time series of unique, under-the-radar experiences designed to help you see the city differently.

What to expect:

You’ll kick things off at The Goodsyard with a relaxed warm-up and a chance to meet your fellow runners before heading out on a guided 5K through the city.

From the Jewellery Quarter to Birmingham’s iconic Gay Village, you’ll follow a carefully curated route that brings the city’s LGBTQ+ history to life. Along the way, your hosts will pause at key landmarks to share powerful stories—covering everything from pivotal moments in 1969 to the evolution of Birmingham’s queer scene today.

As you run, you’ll be accompanied by a Pride-themed playlist, adding energy and atmosphere to the experience. The pace is social and inclusive, with friendly run leaders at the front and back so everyone can take part comfortably.

After the run, you’ll cool down and head into a relaxed social—an opportunity to connect, reflect, and celebrate together.
