A couple of hours focused on the process of making and enjoying having your hands round the spinning clay. This class is all about the initial part of making pottery. You are free to be as creative as you like without the pressure of your pots being fired, and you'll squash the clay at the end. A good introduction to get a feel for wheel throwing and testing the limits of clay.
You'll be given a demo at the start and have guidance throughout. You can also try the traditional Japanese method of throwing off the hump if you wish. Come and detox solo or with a friend at Studio Nendo in the Somerset countryside!

Pottery studio providing one-off handmade pottery and wheel throwing classes.
I fell in love with pottery in a beginner course, and years later I went to stay with a master potter in Japan to learn traditional techniques, which I blend into my making today.
