This course is made up of 4 classes, each lasting 2 hours.
Master the basics of pottery and prepare to get stuck in to the creative process, from planning your design to creating your personalised ceramic dinner set.
This is made for anyone with some pottery experience or those up for a little challenge! You will learn how to build a beautiful, ceramic dinner set from start to finish. Right from compressing and cutting out your forms, to decorating and personalising you creations.
Week 1 (9th November): For the first class you will be creating 2 plates from start to finish. You will create and design the shape and begin creating them, adding all the personal touches you need!
Week 2 (16th November): During the second class you will create 2 tumblers in any style you wish. For this class you will learn how to create sturdy joints and get stuck in to slab building.
Week 3 (23rd November): To finish your dinner set you will create 2 gorgeous bowls using the coiling technique.
Week 4 (7th December): Finally for week 4 you will be glazing your pieces and adding final personal design touches with a splash of colour!
You can also choose the option to book onto two sessions: choosing one session from the first three weeks depending on the product you want to make, and then completing your second session on week 4 to glaze and finish your product.
This workshop's aim is to make clay fun and accessible for everyone. All tools for carving, aprons, clay, rolling pins and guides, rolling mats, teas and coffees, and letters for embossing templates will be provided. Just bring yourselves.
All pieces will be ready to collect before Christmas!
