EmailKick off the festive season with a little creativity. Join illustrator Jodie from Sunshine for Breakfast at the Southville Centre for a lovely watercolour Christmas cards workshop - perfectly timed with the Centre's Christmas Market happening on the same day.
Come solo to escape the festive rush and enjoy a gentle creative morning, or bring a friend for a creative Christmas date. You'll leave with a selection of your own hand-painted cards and hopefully feel calmer and lighter after an enjoyable morning too.
What to expect:
Warm-up & Play: Jodie will start with some playful watercolour exercises, to loosen up and get you into the flow.
Time to Get Creative: This isn’t a paint-by-numbers or step-by-step session - it’s all about experimenting, trying new ideas and having fun.
Christmas Card Making: Create your own set of watercolour Christmas cards - it might be one beautifully detailed scene, a handful of fun and simple designs, or anything in between.
Friendly Guidance: Jodie will provide painting tips, watercolour demonstrations, and gentle encouragement throughout.
What you come away with:
A collection of your own hand-painted Christmas cards, on lovely watercolour card stock, with envelopes
Confidence to play with watercolours and explore your own style
A creative mini-escape from the seasonal rush

When: 11:30am - 1:30pm (2 hours)
Where: Southville Centre, Bristol (alongside their Christmas Market)
Materials: All provided, including watercolour cards and envelopes
Treats & Drinks: Sweet festive treats included - bring your own drinks, or pick up from the café before the workshop
Who: Ages 16+, all creative levels welcome - just a desire to pause, play and create.

Arrival times Please arrive for 11:30am, bringing any drinks you would like to enjoy with you. (Either BYOB and enjoy a festive tipple. Or purchase refreshments from the very lovely Southville Centre Cafe).
Parking/Transport There is no parking at the Centre and very limited parking on local residential streets - (please check the permit holder restrictions!) Local buses: 24, 41, 75, 76, M1

Sunshine for Breakfast is on a mission to brighten anyone's day. I create lovely nature-inspired and mindful illustrations, mostly with my trusty watercolours. I love running workshops to encourage people to embrace play and creativity - especially those who say they aren't creative! The magic moment in any workshop is when people reach that flow state, they are in the zone and lost in the play of creativity.
Jodie (She/Her)
Jodie is the warm, friendly face behind Sunshine for Breakfast. Calm, easy going and gently encouraging, Jodie enjoys guiding even the 'least creative' person to feel at home in one of her workshops.
Jodie's experienced in holding space as a Creative Wellbeing Facilitator, has facilitated dog life drawing sessions and plenty of creative drop-in workshops too. She enjoys bringing the focus of a session to play and creativity, rather than perfection.
