EmailNever picked up a needle? Or you have a machine, but either don't know or can't remember how to use it? Come and figure it out with Lizzie in ‘New Seams’ – a day-long session for beginner / refresher sewers.
We'll work through the ‘Betty’s Bag’ project bag pattern designed for complete beginners. This introduces you to some key terms you’ll find in sewing patterns and will set you up to have a go at beginner-level garment patterns. Go home having sewn a beautiful lined bag with a secret phone pouch attached. Yes, really!
The workshops take place at Lizzie's studio in central Bristol, and you will receive a kit with all materials including a lovely little notions tin.

On the day
Betty Silk Studio is very easy to find – just 5 minutes walk from Bristol Temple Meads station, or 5 minutes drive off the M32. There is on-street parking, free at weekends. Attendees are advised to bring their own machine, or enquire about booking one for the session.

Lizzie Everard (She/Her)
After being on Great British Sewing Bee, Lizzie was inspired to share her love of stitching and design through sewing patterns, workshops and retreats and even better, help people get started on their own sewing journey. She designs sewing patterns, runs classes and retreats and also gives talks about her time on Sewing Bee and her belief in the power of slow stitching.
