Looking for a Valentine’s Day pottery workshop that’s funny, heartfelt, and just a little bit unhinged? Welcome to Mugs on Mugs: A Valentine’s Day Pottery Workshop
In this hands-on ceramic mug making class, you’ll be guided by our expert potters as you slab-build your very own mug from scratch. You’ll learn the fundamentals of handbuilding pottery, from construction to finishing—no experience required, just a steady-ish hand and a sense of humour.
Once your mug is built, it’s time for what Mugs on Mugs is really about. Using coloured slips and clay, you’ll sculpt and decorate your mug with a heartfelt and of course completely accurate depiction of your partner, partner-in-crime, pal, ride-or-die, or chosen muse. Expect bold interpretations, expressive features, and a lovingly wobbly portrait that captures their essence (not necessarily their likeness). This is art. This is love. This is mugs on mugs.
At the end of the session, you’ll reveal your creation to your muse for admiration, laughter, and possibly reassurance.
This Valentine’s pottery class is held at Wiper & True Barrel Store, where you’ll receive 15% off all drinks during the session. Sip, sculpt, and celebrate love in its many forms—romantic, platonic, chaotic—with Mugs on Mugs, the ultimate creative Valentine’s experience.
Please note: All mugs are professionally fired and glazed by us and will be ready to collect from our studio after 4 weeks. We strongly recommend setting a reminder for collection as we do not send reminders. Pottery will be available to collect from our studio at the Windmill Hill City Farm BS3 4EA. Please bring a bag and wrapping for you masterpieces.
