Xanthe Kween is a drag queen hailing from Bristol. Catch Xanthe performing around the Bristol club and cabaret scene - with evocative shows focusing on LGBTQ+ stories, equality through race and gender, and sometimes just feeling at home with oneself.
Movement is the most striking feature of Xanthe's performance. Xanthe has always been fascinated by it, first learning jujutsu and martial arts as a kind of dance in their head. This led to an obsession with dance and studying Physical Theatre at Drama A level. Both became a lifeline to Xanthe.
Xanthe would improvise and perform whenever they could, bringing unique shows with unusual movement to the Tobacco Factory Theatres. They were well received. What struck Xanthe the most was the emotional liberation they experienced performing. Merging movement, dance and physical theatre helped Xanthe express all the feelings they were experiencing. This is the gift Xanthe will be sharing in their workshops.
