Create Your Own Kokedama Moss Ball Workshop
Create three beautiful kokedama moss balls to take home and display.
Join the team at Sprouts of Bristol for a relaxed and creative workshop where you'll learn how to make your own kokedama β a Japanese style of planting where plants grow in hand-wrapped moss balls instead of traditional pots.
During this two-hour experience youβll create three kokedama moss balls, each planted with a different seasonal houseplant. These striking living sculptures can be displayed on a dish, shelf or even hung to create a beautiful botanical feature in your home.
Your workshop will be led by one of the knowledgeable Sprouts team, trained by founder Jessy to guide you through the process step-by-step.
During the workshop you will:
πΏ Learn the traditional technique of making kokedama
πΏ Create three moss ball planters using seasonal plants
πΏ Learn how to display and care for your kokedama
πΏ Take home three finished kokedama plants
All plants, moss, materials and tools are provided so you can simply relax and enjoy the creative process.
Weβll also provide tea, coffee and sweet treats from 404 Bakes while you craft your botanical creations.
These workshops are also BYOB, so feel free to bring your favourite tipple. Alternatively, our friends at The Green Man pub just up the road are happy to provide takeaway drinks.
Perfect for plant lovers, creative afternoons with friends, or unique botanical gifts.
Please note
Workshops require a minimum of 6 participants. If the minimum number of bookings is not reached, we may reschedule the workshop and contact you to arrange an alternative date.

Great fun and can't believe we managed to make several kokedama's. They are currently hanging in my campervan on a weekend away and they look fabulous. Thank you for the fantastic workshop!
Jess was a great host, the shop was so lovely to work in. The brownies and proximity to a bar helped too. Everything was well thought through and great fun - really appreciated being able to make a variety of kokedamas. Thank you!
Lovely simple activity to get involved in, and surprised with how many we came away with. Jessy has a really wonderful shop, and the workspace at the back for the class was perfect.
Great set up. Friendly and relaxed session.
A very cute and wholesome experience. Would highly recommend!

A fun creative time in great company. Pleased with my creations too! Thank you.
fun experience
This was an enjoyable activity in a welcoming environment, with a lovely host. There was a small group so the session didn't last as long as advertised but we all had a good time and went away with some green works of art.
Really excellent. I will be back.
The hosts were perfectly lovely and very generous. The workshop explanations were clear and manageable and the materials top quality. I came home with several completed kokedamas, it was a perfect evening in excellent company! I can't wait for more workshops.
There is limited on-street pay-and-display parking near the shop, though spaces can sometimes be tricky to find.
If youβre driving and canβt find a space, Rupert Street multi-storey car park is around a 13-minute walk away.
Your workshop will be led by one of the knowledgeable Sprouts team, all trained by founder Jessy Edgar.
