Design your own macrame plant hanger

What you'll do

Macrame is a lovely form of stress relief, it improves motor skills, and poses the fun challenge of learning a new skill. Even better, you get something to show for it once you’re done. What's not to love!

Know your knots from your threads in this brilliant macrame workshop. This experience will be hosted by artist and macrame maker Juliet from Gather by Jules. You'll be creating your very own plant hanger using either braided or recycled cotton cords in various colours.

This workshop isn't just a great opportunity to pick up a new skill, but a chance to hang out with pals or meet cool people. Sprouts of Bristol will be welcoming you into their newly-opened back room to hang out with like-minded guests and be surrounded by their dreamy plants!

Juliet will guide you every step of the way along your creative journey. All materials will be provided. Your completed plant hanger will be around one metre long and hold a plant pot of up to 15cm. There'll be a 10% in-store discount for all guests - so why not treat yourself to a lovely new leafy friend while you're at it too!

Please note: There's a maximum of ten guests for this experience.

About Sprouts of Bristol

Sprouts of Bristol is an independent plant & homewares brand. You can usually find them delivering orders around the city or at a local market chatting to lovely people about plants.

How did Sprouts come about? A designer and musician made Bristol their home over six years ago with two cats, Indie and Luluigi, and one hundred house plants. With a keen interest in sustainability, supporting indie businesses, and a love of doing what makes you happy - Sprouts of Bristol was formed. Created from founders Tom and Jessy's love of bold design, all things green, and the joy that a house plant brings to the home (and soul).

Your host

Juliet Edgar

Juliet is an artist, textile designer and activist. She recently moved to South Wales aiming to get to know the local community, grow organic food, and forage in the nearby lanes and forests - as well as make a lot of macrame.

Macrame as an artistic expression has been revisited by Juliet from an early start in the 1980s through to what Juliet creates today. Colour and nature influence Juliet’s work, as does the use of organic and recycled materials.
