Make a beer mug at Wiper and True

Beer and mugs - we dare you to name two more comforting things! In this experience, build your own beer mug. Join local pottery pros, Gaby and Chloe, at Wiper and True's cosy St Werburghs taproom to get started. Enjoy their tasty beer as you craft.

What to expect:

  • A beginner-friendly Sunday craft session at Wiper and True
  • Create your dream beer mug with guidance from The Pot Project team
  • Make something personalised, practical, silly, or just let your imagination run free
  • Discover how to build and decorate your beer vessel
  • All materials and tools are provided - just bring yourself!
  • Your ticket also includes two pints of Wiper and True beer (or soft drinks)
  • Gaby and Chloe will take your creations away to be fired and get in touch when they're ready to be collected

Be reunited with your beer mug - feel chuffed you made such a handsome thing from scratch! *Pots will be ready 6-8 weeks after the class.

On the day

  • Arrive at Wiper and True's St Werburghs Taproom for a 3.30PM start
  • The address is Wiper and True, 2-8 York Street, St Werburghs, BS2 9XT
  • You'll be provided with all the tools and materials needed to create your own beer mug
  • The event should end at around 5PM
  • Wear clothes you don't mind getting mucky

You'll be hosted by

Gaby Connell

Gabrielle Connell is the maker behind Goob Design. After first finding her love of clay working at North Street Potters in London, Gabrielle went on to graduate from the University of Falmouth where she studied Contemporary Crafts. Gaby works predominately with stoneware creating functional tableware. As well as making her own creations and teaching at The Pot Project, she also works for The Village Pottery, based in Bristol. Gaby is passionate about creating sustainable pottery.

Chloe Lee

Chloe was first introduced to working with clay by ceramicist Potty Joy from Devon. Inspired by this, Chloe went on to further her learning by taking throwing lessons and self-teaching. Since then, she's gone on to teach a variety of workshops, including ones for people with disabilities.

This creative has also been making and selling work for the last two years through her business, Get Ya Pots Out. Chloe is passionate about celebrating the beauty in all bodies and making ceramics an accessible space for all to enjoy.
