During the Jane Austen Festival 2026, we will welcome you to customise a mask fit for a Masquerade Ball!

Choose from our selection of masks and make it your own using our paints and fabrics and our fabulous vintage haberdashery bar.

This is a fun, creative activity suitable for all ages and abilities. Your tutors will share inspiration, tips and decorative techniques.

Join us and create a beautiful, sustainable and unique souvenir of your time in Bath.

On the day

Please do not arrive more than 5 minutes before the start time of the workshop. We would love you to join us in your Regency wear but this workshop is open to all and we welcome you in whatever makes you feel most comfortable. There will be the option of working with paint so please be aware of that when choosing your outfit. The venue is in central Bath and while there is no parking at the venue, there are plenty of car parks within walking distance.

Fran Forsyth (She/Her)

Fran is passionate about sustainable textiles and has training in sewing, upholstery and zero waste fashion. Following a successful career in law, she combines her love of making with promoting the changes needed to tackle waste in the textiles industry.

Jan Periton Dunning (She/Her)

Jan is a qualified Art and D&T specialist with more than ten years' experience teaching in schools and galleries. Prior to this, she worked in the fashion industry. A life-long maker, she's also a photographer and published author.
