Get into the festive spirit with this Christmas silversmithing workshop, where you will make your own silver reindeer to hang on the tree!

Your host for this experience is The Jewellers Peg, whose studio is in the heart of the historic jewellery quarter. Run by expert jewellers Vanessa and Tom, you will learn how to make a silver Christmas tree decoration from scratch.

In this experience, you can expect:

  • All tools, materials and silver provided
  • Dedicated 1-1 help from your hosts
  • Be taught the basics involved in jewellery-making
  • Learn how to cut, texture and finish your piece
  • Fresh tea, coffee, juice and biscuits to help along the way!
  • A free jewellery box to keep it in

You will leave the workshop with a beautiful handmade silver Christmas tree decoration. Hang it on your own tree or give it as a gift, either way, it will be cherished for Christmases to come.

The class is aimed at beginners, so no prior experience is necessary. If you have tried jewellery-making before, then this workshop will also help you improve your saw-piercing skills.

A pre-class information pack will be sent to you after booking.

  • There will be places for you to wash your hands, and hand sanitiser is also available.

On the day

  • Your venue is found on the first floor and is accessible via a spiral staircase. There is no lift access.
  • Please make sure any long hair is tied back.
  • Please don't wear loose-fitting clothes or anything with dangling ends.
  • Please wear comfortable shoes.
  • You can get to the venue by bus, tram or a 20-minute walk from the city centre.
  • All day free and pay & display parking is available nearby.
