Join ceramicists Naomi Stokes and Meredith Mason at Bristol's award-winning brewery, Wiper and True, in Old Market for a fun workshop of pottery and a pint!
You'll be guided step-by-step through the process of making your own slab-built ceramic mug. You don't need any previous experience as everything will be fully explained on the day.
What to expect: - Learn the fundamentals of slab building pottery - Make your own beer mug with the help of professional ceramicists - Enjoy a drink from Wiper and True's taproom - Collect your mugs 2-4 weeks later after they've been fired and glazed
Enjoy a drink from Bristol's award-winning brewery with the freshest pints being brewed just meters from your table. What will you choose? Kaleidoscope Pale Ale or maybe Lucky Saint?
After a brief demonstration from your experts, you'll be left to flex your new skills! Practise the fundamentals of slab building: rolling out, slip and scoring, and decorative techniques to finish off with your personal and unique design.
Your finished item will be left with your hosts who will fire and glaze your work. You will be contacted to collect your mugs from your host within 2-4 weeks.
After your experience, you are welcome to enjoy the friendly atmosphere and a plant-filled oasis beer garden. What's not to love about the Wiper and True Taproom?

Great location and fun evening!
Pottymouth's pottery session at Wiper and True was brilliant. Myself and my partner have been to the taproom before so we know it's a fab location off the bat. The hosts were so lovely, encouraging and informative and the evening whizzed by. I'd definitely recommend this experience, it is extremely beginner friendly. Thank you Pottymouth Pottery :)
We had a great time!
Fun & good location
Great location and fun evening!
Had such a great time, would highly recommend!
Pottymouth were great hosts and the taproom was stunning. Great fun!
Really lovely evening, well organised and led with detailed explanations and a relaxed atmosphere - would go again!
A very enjoyable night, hosts made all provisions they could for me (severe hearing loss), & I would definitely do this again. Alas the venue was not ideal, as there was no separation between the main bar, and "the snug" so loud music & chatter drowned out most of what I could hear, they could really do with some noise baffling dividers. Don't let that put you off, though, because you'd be missing out on a great night, & even if your mug is an abomination (like mine) you'll treasure the memories
Such a good evening!
Lovely weeknight activity at a great venue, the hosts made sure that the work was done by yourself!
It was a really good evening out, the hosts were really supportive and I liked the location
Lots of fun!
We had such a wonderful time at Pottymouth! It was our first experience with Yuup and I don’t think we could have found a more perfect workshop. The setup was really cool, it was similar to being in a studio environment and so it was great value for money. The hosts were really lovely, very knowledgeable and were always on hand to help. Very relaxed atmosphere, perfect for catching up with a friend, much better than just going for a drink! Would highly recommend! Thank youuu!
Really nice workshop, the surroundings were nice as well, but it was often hard to hear the workshop hosts when demonstrating. Realise that is a problem in these sort of venues.
The workshops hosts were lovely and very supportive throughout. On hand to answer any questions and make suggestions as and when needed. The right balance of interaction. Would do this again.
Very enjoyable beginners mug making class in a nice setting with good atmosphere and a free drink
Brilliant evening in a beautiful location. Would recommend!
Perfect fun evening with friends & awesome location!
Naomi & Meredith explained the process and broke everything down into clear steps. They made everything appear so gracefully simple (spoiler, that's years of experience).
To my surprise, I created a mug which actually looks like a mug.
It's not just an abstract mug shape. No advance warning required that it's a mug.
It's a usable mug; my mug.
On top of that, I had a great time.
All of that is testament to Naomi & Meredith's skill and care.
Please do not attend this session if you are feeling unwell, experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms or have been in contact with someone who is testing positive.
