Learn how to forge in this private experience with Bristol creator Charlotte, from The Silver Duck. During this day-long experience you’ll create a bangle design, before using a hammer to move your silver and make a beautiful and unique forged bangle. Charlotte has been teaching and hosting workshops since 2013.
You’ll be able to forge your bangle to create a tapered effect with varying thickness, depending on your chosen design. You’ll also have the option of soldering your bracelet to seal it or keeping it open and adjustable. Charlotte is an experienced and creative silversmith and jewellery maker and will take you through each part of the process step by step. You’ll not only go away with your own personal bangle but also the experience of using the tools and techniques used by silversmiths.
If you are interested in a two-person workshop, please do get in touch and Charlotte can arrange this for you.

I had a lovely day learning new skills and I am thrilled with the bangle I made. Charlotte was so friendly and patient and I felt very relaxed from the moment I arrived. Thank you!
This is a private experience and you'll have your own fully sanitised workspace. You can bring along a mask to wear if you'd like to.
Please wear long trousers and closed shoes. If you have long hair you’ll also need to tie it back. Tea and coffee will be provided but bring along a packed lunch with you. There is bike storage available, just let Charlotte know if you’d like to use it. Please arrive at the prescribed time of your workshop. Charlotte will be sat in her workshop keeping an eye out for you. Google maps tends to take you further down the road than you need to go.
Your host will be Charlotte, the maker behind The Silver Duck. Charlotte will guide you through the process of making your piece. Along the way she’ll be sharing techniques, inspiration and tips but always encourages people to embrace their creative side with both their design and tools. You’ll go away with your own personal piece of silver work to keep or give as a unique, one-off gift.
