Step back in time and discover the magic of traditional printmaking in this festive letterpress workshop. Using beautiful 120-year-old Victorian presses, you’ll design and print your very own set of unique Christmas cards to share with loved ones this season.
Your host will introduce you to the fascinating world of letterpress: from its history to the essentials of relief printing, inks, and paper stocks. Then it’s your turn to get hands-on. You’ll be provided with partially printed card templates and given access to a treasure trove of woodblock and lead type, picture blocks, and decorative ornaments to bring your designs to life.
Once you’ve created your layout, you’ll learn how to operate the vintage tabletop presses and print your very own set of bespoke Christmas cards to take home. Whether you’re completely new to printmaking or simply curious about this traditional craft, this workshop is a welcoming introduction that combines creativity, history, and festive fun.
