Slow down and paint one of Bristol’s most beautiful natural landscapes in a mindful, guided watercolour workshop.
This experience is part of City Uncovered: Bristol, taking place from 18th–31st May – a limited-time series of unique, under-the-radar experiences designed to help you see the city differently.
What to expect:
You’ll join your tutor, Holly Foskett-Barnes, for a calm and welcoming workshop inspired by the natural beauty of Leigh Woods. The session begins with an introduction to the landscape and a step-by-step demonstration, helping you understand how to approach painting with watercolours.
As you begin creating your own piece, Holly will guide you through a range of techniques—from building washes and textures to capturing the atmosphere of woodland scenes. You’ll receive one-to-one support throughout, helping you build confidence and develop your own style.
The workshop is designed to be as relaxing as it is creative, with a strong focus on slowing down, observing nature, and enjoying the process rather than striving for perfection. Expect a peaceful, mindful atmosphere where you can fully switch off and immerse yourself in painting.
This experience is perfect for:
• Beginners wanting to try watercolour painting
• Nature lovers looking for a creative, mindful activity
• Creatives seeking a relaxed and supportive environment
• Anyone wanting to unwind and reconnect with their creativity
