Learn To Knit Socks From The Toe Up

There's no simple luxury quite like a pair of hand knitted socks - it's true.

Find out how to knit your own pair in this two-part workshop. Your feet will be thanking you for many a winter to come!

Over the course of two friendly classes, you will go through everything you need to know so you can knit your own socks from the toe-up. The first workshop will cover:

  • Picking a size
  • Casting on
  • Shaping the toe
  • Working the foot of your sock

There are four weeks between sessions to give you plenty of time to work your way from the toe of your sock all the way up to the heel turn, ready for the second class. This will involve:

  • Different ways to turn a heel (and the pros and cons of each)
  • How to swap a different heel into an existing pattern to make it work better for you
  • Stretchy cast-offs and finishing your socks

There will be plenty of tea and snacks on hand. With yarn, needles and patterns all included - all you need to do is bring yourself. Let's get to it!

Please note: you'll need to be a confident beginner to sign up for this experience, as you'll be expected to be able to work basic stitches like knit and purl. It would be helpful, but not essential if you also know how to work basic increases and decreases.

The dates for the class are Saturday 18 May and Saturday 22 June.

Please note: a minimum of 2 bookings are required for this workshop to run. If this number isn't reached the host will be in touch to discuss re-scheduling.
