Get ready for a creative, hands-on childrenās clay workshop at Chance & Counters Games CafĆ©! In this fun and imaginative session, children aged 7 years and over will design and sculpt their very own clay monster face using air-dry clay.
Young makers will learn the basics of hand-building clay, including how to create a pinch pot face and use the slip and score method to attach monster teeth, eyes, funky scales, and any wild extras they can dream up. This workshop is perfect for kids who love art, crafts, and getting a little messy while learning real ceramic techniques.
Each child will take home a set of paints so they can decorate their monster once it has fully dried (after 72 hours). No prior experience is neededājust imagination and a willingness to have fun!
Parents & guardians must accompany children at all times, and the bar and cafƩ will be open as usual, so adults can enjoy refreshments while the monsters come to life.

They've been part of the Pottymouth Workshop team for over a year, where their passion for all things miniature and quirky shines through in their ceramics. Charlieās love of novelty objects and tiny details gives their work a playful, distinctive edge. They're especially passionate about welcoming beginners into the world of ceramics and sharing the joy of making with others.
Kate (She/Her)
Kate is the newest member of our team, joining us fresh from completing her ceramics degree at Cardiff Met. With a deep and thoughtful understanding of clays and glazes, she brings both technical skill and artistic insight to her practice. Proficient in wheel work and handbuilding, Kateās true passion lies in creating intricate, realistic sculptural pieces that explore fine art concepts. Already highly praised by students and staff alike, weāre thrilled to have her on board.
Mez (She/Her)
Meredith is the co-founder of Pottymouth Workshop and a ceramicist with five years of teaching experience, specialising in handbuilding. She brings a warm, encouraging presence to every session, creating a space where people of all abilities can feel confident to explore and experiment. Whether you're coiling, pinching, or slab building, Meredithās calm guidance and supportive teaching style make learning feel approachable and fun. Her goal is to share the joy of working with clay and help you discover what you can create with your own two hands.
Naomi (She/Her)
Naomi is the co-founder of Pottymouth Workshop and an expert potter with over five years of teaching experience. Primarily working on the wheel, sheās recently rekindled her love for handbuilding, bringing a fresh perspective to both techniques. Naomi is passionate about helping people bring their ideas to life in clay, no matter their skill level. Throughout your time in the workshop, sheāll be there every step of the wayāoffering guidance, support, and plenty of encouragement to help you feel confident and inspired.
