Looking for a festive activity that’s both fun and creative? This hands-on Christmas sewing workshop is the perfect way to get your child into the festive spirit this December!

Guided by experienced sewing tutor Lauren Holloway at Creative Space in Staple Hill, children will learn how to use a domestic sewing machine before designing and stitching their very own personalised Christmas stocking. With a wide range of festive fabrics to choose from, every stocking will be unique — ready to hang up at home for Santa’s arrival!

This workshop is suitable for complete beginners as well as kids with some sewing experience. By the end of the session, each child will leave with a finished stocking and new sewing skills to be proud of.

Lauren Holloway

Designer and Maker Lauren Holloway has been running her own slow-fashion handbag and accessory brand since 2013. Lauren specialises in making sustainable bags, purses, laptop cases and toiletry storage, all handcrafted in her Bristol-based studio. She has extensive knowledge and experience in designing patterns and sewing anything from coin purses to backpacks. Lauren offers a range of sewing workshops from beginner to intermediate level, where participants can learn the basics of using a domestic sewing machine, brush up on existing sewing skills or develop new techniques to improve their craft. You’ll leave the workshop with new-found knowledge and inspiration for future projects plus you’ll take home a beautiful handmade bag you can enjoy for years to come.
