What you'll do

Want to turn your van into a campervan but don’t know how? This hands-on two-day experience will bring you up to speed with all the basic design and DIY skills you need.

Your knowledgeable hosts will cover everything from van design and layout, to safety considerations – from ventilation to gas leaks and storage. Consider this experience the ultimate campervan converter bible.

Learn how to plan your build and most importantly of all, where to begin! Your hosts will break down all the tools and materials you will need. If you’re wondering what about woodwork, insulation, plumbing and electrics? Don’t worry, these guys have you covered…

By the end of the weekend, as a team, you will have built from scratch a freestanding sink and cooker unit with the following:

  • • An integrated 12v power supply which will run the lighting and water pump
  • • Integrated clean and dirty water storage
  • • A working gas ring
  • • 240-volt hook-up power systems, with socket and battery charging
  • • Built-in USB charger points and battery charge monitor display
  • • A 12v battery with both 240v and van charging capabilities from an external supply
  • • A fuse panel and individual switches

In the process you will also brush up on plenty of skills, including how to shape units to your van’s interior, work with different materials and build bed frames. In a weekend’s work, that’s seriously impressive!

About Black Paw

Scott has been upcycling furniture for many years, but it was only after family and friends asked how they could make the inventive pieces in his home that Scott first started sharing his skills. Over 7 years later Scott continues to host a number of Black Paw upcycling experiences in his workshop, helping people to create their own pieces of upcycled furniture and learn the skills needed to upcycle at home.
