Houseplant Fundamentals 4 Week Course

This course is designed to get you from ‘Black-Thumbed Houseplant Killer’ to ‘Houseplant Guru In-The-Making’

Absolutely no experience required (and absolutely no shame – no matter how many plants you might have killed…) just a desire for happy houseplants!

You will be taught and guided by Jordan Isherwood, owner and founder of Isherwood & Co. Jordan is extremely passionate about houseplants, and is positively fizzing with excitement to share all her knowledge, tips and tricks with you!

What to expect:

• Get your hands dirty with a mix of informal lectures, demonstrations, Q&As AND practical learning
• Isherwood & Co. plant parent toolkit: Carbon-bladed snips, Jungle Feed houseplant fertiliser, pail of Coco Coir houseplant soil, mini terrarium tools, & propagation station
• Access to a private Facebook group with even more resources

This course starts Saturday 15th April, with the final session on Saturday 6th May 2023

Sat 15th April – Botany 101: Back to Basics

Bring your notebook! This session will be a fast-paced 101 covering all typical houseplants from arid to tropical and everything in between.

From root to tip, you'll break down all the botany and why it matters, so by the end of the session – you’ll realise it’s definitely not rocket science!

Sat 22nd April – Potting On

Learning how and when to pot on your houseplants.

This week you’ll be getting your hands dirty and potting up some plants for you to take home! You’ll tackle the monster by name monster by nature ‘Monstera Deliciosa’ Swiss Cheese Plant (a houseplant classic), succulents, and the tricky-to-pot cactus.

Sat 29th April – Propagating 101

Learn how to multiply your plant collection! This week covers cuttings & propagation.

You’ll learn how different species multiply themselves, the different ways you can propagate different plants including stem cuttings, leaf cuttings, air layering, and division. You’ll also take home some new cuttings for your growing collection!

Sat 6th May – What To Do When It All Goes Wrong?!

Learn how to troubleshoot an unhappy plant. You will cover common pests, understanding contributing factors to unhappy houseplants and how to turn things around…
